New Measures for Lake Protection and Regulation of Bicycle Access

The Comapedrosa Natural Park reminds visitors that the new Park Management Plan, approved in May 2026, introduces several measures aimed at strengthening the conservation of the protected area’s natural values and ensuring their preservation for future generations.
Among the main new measures is the ban on swimming in all lakes located within the Natural Park. This measure is intended to protect the quality of high-mountain waters and the associated aquatic ecosystems, particularly from the impact of products such as sunscreen and other pollutants. However, visitors may cool off or briefly wet their feet, provided this is done respectfully and without harming the natural environment.
The Park also reminds visitors that access and bicycle use are not permitted anywhere within the Natural Park. This regulation remains in force under the new Management Plan in order to balance public use with the conservation of habitats, wildlife and the tranquillity of visitors. Only vehicles specifically authorized for special purposes or linked to livestock activities may enter the Park.
The Management Plan also reinforces other existing regulations, including the requirement to keep dogs on a leash, rules governing the use of drones, and the general protection of the Park’s habitats and wildlife.
